12th January 2008 Saturday 3.00pm
Anfield ( yishun branch )
Weather: started well and ended fucked up
overall report: overall team play improved tremendously as a whole.
Defence
This is especially worth a mention. with the the 3 central lynchpins holding the fort so well, there was little chance of enemy penetrating our backline. everyone could see what they did. period
Midfield
Not particularly outstanding but they did their job. Defensive midfield fantastic. midfield a little link-up. attacking midfield was non-existent.
Strike
We only had one. No ball feed her.
Individual analysis
dougy(GK)
arguably the best keeper in our squad. has proved himself as a worthy contender for a consistent first team position. great PA system for the team. superb first time display. probably our first team keeper. should hang out with the majority of the team for longer periods of time during breaks.
aravinah(CB)
outstanding first game with us. stunned everyone in the team and impressed with his various strengths. calmly controlled tense situations and made important tackles at the right time. positioning can be improved though. anyway well done keep it up.
khimmie(CB no.2)
good attempt. can be improved greatly in certain aspects. but don't worry all these can be improved with future games to come. your turns could be faster and positioning can be improved. but its understandable for today's game for you haven't been involved in a game for much of the time. by taking part in more games and with time to come, he will turn out to be a huge prospectful centre-back.
jeffrey(biggest CB)
of all the games so far, this is his best of all. with no doubt at all, he was totally in control of himself today. made a few vital interceptions. most importantly he didn't receive any red card from the ref and neither did he even get a warning from the official. he stunned all of us definitely. well of course he has something to improve as with every game. positioning can be improved so that he doesn't always have to whoosh past the opponent and make everyone hold their breaths. also, he should never ever shout at the referee during game play. recipe for disaster
Wak(not sure)
i don't really know where he was playing for this match. came into the game as a defender on the left side. did pretty well. i've never seen him in defender mode before but he was quick to mark and close down. also brought the ball forward to the midfield often but also got back in time to fulfill his role. shouldn't be in the defender position. can do more damage to the opponent if hes allowed to roam further up the pitch.
pokey(DM)
my personal man of the match has to be the fellow in this position. poh lim was pretty consistent throughout the game and has been cutting out through balls and making important headers away from his back line, giving them a protection like no other. his distribution wasnt any bad either. but most important was he solved our ongoing problem of not having a midfield commander. but one thing to note, composure lacks but no problem, this will come with more games played. also, he probably has to voice out his comments and make sure everyone do the right thing.
yanah(CM)
he was the biggest surprise of all. not being used in a central position often, he has grown into this position with much ease today. although not being always successful in bringing the ball forward, he tries his best to do it though with much difficulty but nevetheless he gets the ball away from the danger zone pretty much. however, he should learn to pass the ball much more and look up more for team mates around him which would make the whole play more fluent through him.
dare-not(CM no.2)
not bad for someone whom in my mind does not even belong on the soccer field. though his presence isnt there but his few touches have proved to be an alternative route for his team mates to take. and his positioning is pretty intellectual though his touches and control arent up to a certain mark, he strives to do his best in every game. due to low confidence, he seldom produces the type of 'magic' he expects himself to do. but its alright, with more match practice more balls will arrive and he will start to complete some of the pass/tricks he aspire to do.
Geraldine (LMF)
the most useful attacking player of the game. constantly running back and forth on the left flank . collecting the ball from deep and dribbling past a few opponents and spreading the ball to those upfront. essential part of our attacking play. should link up more with much of the team mates. this can be done by knowing us better and communicating with us on a regular basis so as to increase understanding.
come(amc/right winger)
started off as a right winger but eventually strayed inwards to be converted into an attacking midfielder. constantly brought balls forward and continued trying to create opportunities for himself and others. aimed for through passes and overhead passes all throughout the game.
asked the ball on a constant basis and always aspired to create goal scoring opportunity. should learnt to trust team mates more often rather than depending on himself to bring the ball into the box. must understand that team mates are not always available to give him the ball when attacking. communication is an important factor. has accuracy when it comes to dead balls so should gain the courage to test the opposition keeper on a more regular basis.
bojinov (ST)
played up a great reputation from before the match. and aimed to be a danger upfront. during the game, didn't have much chances due to lack of supply from the midfield. but didn't sulk until after the game. kept his head up during the game and looked for opportunities to pounce on loose balls. point to note: should look forward to the future games and NOT to keep looking back at games which are over already.
chengbeng(DM?)
played a relatively different role from that of the one he normally stays in. considered a huge improvement in terms of contribution to the team. intercepted several balls but only distribution a bit off. could not get rid of the ball at the correct times. but play was simple and neat. kept it easy and didnt lose possession easy. considered his best position played on field so far.
fab-myass(right wing)
was introduced late into the game. injected a bit of pace and trickery down the right but couldn't get past the defender. took one free kick and delivered into the keeper's hands. caused a yellow card.
C.ronaldo
unavailable
Fabregas
transfer haven't set in
Messi
not being used, on the bench
Overall:
WE WON. fuck you if you say it was lucky soccer games are won like this.
more improvement to come.
kudos to everyone today.
ASPIRE TO ACHIEVE MORE.
play for more matches worth for more mention.
